Hearts in the Valley is the new and innovative program that will bring children with heart diseases and those who are post- heart transplant to our beautiful mainstream summer resident camp at Frost Valley YMCA. Arising from Frost Valley’s 30 year partnership with the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, and modeled on our world-famous children’s kidney program, Hearts in the Valley will allow cardiac campers to participate in a traditional summer camp experience while in the care of expert pediatric cardiologists and cardiac nurses and nurse practitioners, under the supervision of the Children's Hospital at Montefiore.
The program is based in the beautiful Guenther Wellness Center at Frost Valley. Special attention is given to the individual medical, social, and developmental needs of each child. Back-up medical facilities are provided locally by area hospitals in the Catskills region, and by the Children's Hospital of Montefiore, in coordination with the campers' home facilities.
