In the High Peaks of the Catskills – just 2 ½ hours from metro New York/New Jersey – Frost Valley has been providing extraordinary natural experiences for children for over 50 years. Our location on 6,000 acres in the heart of the Catskill Forest Preserve is unmatched by any educational learning center in the country. Our enthusiastic outdoor environmental educators come to Frost Valley from all over the U.S and the world to create a truly memorable experience for your students. We work closely with teachers to build a unique program for their students from our famous class offerings that blend time outdoors with learning.
Frost Valley YMCA is internationally known as a leader in environmental education, and an active partner in watershed science research. The centerpiece of our environmental education program is a residential school program which gives thousands of students and teachers each year the chance to learn to become responsible stewards of the earth, our future scientists, policy makers and parents of the next generation. The sign at our entrance tells this story best: “Future world and local leaders at work and play.”
