Outdoor Sporting Events

The Natural Resources Department hosts a number of events over the course of the year. Programs include 3-D archery shoots, hunter safety courses, and free monthly guided hikes through our Take a Hike Program guided by our own New York State licenced guide. MAY

Take a Hike: Devil’s Hole Hike (Free)
Saturday, May 19, 2-4pm
Join us for a hike to one of our more popular waterfalls as you enjoy the fresh budding trees and new growth of Spring along the way.

JUNE

Take a Hike: Model Forest Hike (Free)
Saturday, June 16, 2-4pm
Join us for a hike through our Model Forest and learn about the environmental effects of foresting.

Fly Fishing Field Day
Saturday, June 23, 9am-3pm
Free to Outdoor Sporting members, $15/person for non-members

Ever wanted to learn to fly fish? Come learn from professional fly fishermen on our private trout pond.

JULY

Take a Hike: Red Hill Fire Tower Hike (Free)
Sunday, July 8, 2-4:30pm
Hike to the top of the Red Hill Fire Tower to see a breathtaking 360˚ view of the Catskills and the surrounding area.

AUGUST

Take a Hike: Ladleton Relics & Blueberries Hike (Free)
Saturday, August 11, 1-4pm
Join our guided hike to discover some historical relics left by early Catskill Mountian inhabitants and pick blueberries along the way.

3D Archery Tournament & BBQ Picnic
Saturday, August 25, 8am-3pm
A great way to spend the day outdoors with your family, Frost Valley’s annual 3D Archery Shoot Tournament and BBQ Picnic offers a large course to test your skills and an outdoor BBQ lunch for a minimal fee. Awards will be rewarded for each age and skill level at the end of the day.
