Yesterday, Lakota had “Throwback Day” where they celebrated all the history of Frost Valley. They learned older songs and games. They also decided to create a new grace banner and pay homage to the older Lakota villages. Traditionally, the group that paints the banner puts their year on the banner. This wonderful group of Lakota ladies put 1977 and 2011 on their banner.
Lacota began in 1977, it’s true. It was spelled with the “c”: Lacota. And it was a co-ed all-ages village that resided in real Sioux tipis in what is now called the “Hayden Soccer Field.”
