Although Reflection Pond was fairly peacefull this morning as the lazy Sunday began, sixty 12 year old girls, their counselors, and one director (in hip high waders I might add) took over in the late afternoon. I took out nets and explained to the girls that we would be doing a little pond exploration in order to better understand the Core Value, Stewardship. It was also explained that we should be Respectful, and Responsible (also core values), of all of the living things that we found, and return them to their homes in the same condition we found them.[Gallery not found] Soon after the initial directions, nets were handed out and we began an afternoon of squealing as frogs hopped out of nets, Newts were caught and released, and other various pond creatures were discovered. It was not your typical afternoon, it was far better than that!
