The East Valley Ranch and Lodge (formerly known as the Straus Center) is an ideal site for family retreats, organizational retreats and trainings, small conference groups, as well as specific activity-related groups such as hiking clubs, quilt guilds, and study groups. We can provide programming to enhance your agenda whether it be teambuilding, recreation, an evening speaker or to custom design a complete program especially tailored to meet the needs and interests of your group or organization. With over 10 miles of hiking trails available, a high-ropes course, and plenty of cross-country ski trails to explore, the East Valley Ranch and Lodge offers a range of activities to satisfy all types of groups. This now includes horseback riding lessons, trail rides and a new arts and crafts center. Create a fun-filled horse experience with your group. We specialize in intimate programs for lifelong learners who enjoy challenging themselves intellectually and physically indoors and out.
Our facility offers the perfect setting for you to restore and renew yourself while participating in programming which promotes lifelong learning and health for the mind, body, and spirit. Whether you choose to bring your own group, participate in an Road Scholar® course, or immerse yourself in the growing arts program you will enjoy a visit to the Catskills that leaves your soul replenished and your mind fed.
With the addition of 5 yurts, the capacity is now 60 people, allowing us to accommodate larger groups, including 4-H and Girl Scout Troops, at this one-of-a-kind facility. Through Fall 2011 to Spring 2012, renovations to this facility will be happening to make it into a premier lodge and working horse barn.
