Camp Wawayanda

(Boys and Girls Grades 2 through 7)

One of the oldest summer resident camps in America, Camp Wawayanda serves Frost Valley YMCA’s youngest campers. Rapidly approaching its 106th year ,there is no lack of fun, innovation, or energy at Wawayanda. Campers participate in a wide-range of activities under the watchful eye of trained junior and senior counselors, swimming in beautiful Lake Cole; making arts & crafts; overcoming the challenges of our low and high ropes courses; camping in the woods; and sharing campfire tales.

Camp Wawayanda offers a program based on skill development, guided discovery, and a choice of amazing activities that foster healthy outdoor fun. Campers are placed in villages according to grade and gender, each sharing activities with a corresponding brother or sister village.

The progression is:

  • Pokey (Girls)/Totem (Boys)(2nd-4th grades)
  • Susky (Girls)/Forest (Boys)(5th-6th grades)
  • Lakota (Girls)/Outpost (Boys)(7th grade)

At Camp Wawayanda there is no end to the excitement packed into a camper’s day.
