The day starts bright and early with morning chores and flag raising done before breakfast at 8.
After breakfast, campers will choose whether they learn in the garden, take classes about the animals, do arts and crafts, go hiking, or maybe learn about another culture from one of our international staff members.
The busy morning builds up quite an appetite so everyone heads back to the dining hall where they will find some of the fruits, veggies, and meat that we raise here on the farm.
With a full belly everyone needs a little rest back at the yurt and then it is time for a fun packed afternoon.
Each yurt will have activities together, which allows for them to develop a very tight knit community with their yurt-mates.
Activities rotate through swimming, bread making, nature walks, learning to build a primitive shelter, boating, archery, soap making, and maybe even a hay-rack ride.
After another great meal campers have an all camp evening activity.
These activities are inclusive, which helps to foster a sense of whole camp community and keeps campers coming back year after year.
At this point most everyone is feeling like it’s time for a shower and a talk together as a yurt about the value of the day and how everything is going.
After this fun and adventuresome day, everyone curls up in their sleeping bag and enjoys a great night sleeping in the cool Catskill air.
