Environmental Stewardship

Wildlife/Fisheries

Frost Valley YMCA land is home to healthy wildlife and fish populations.  Wildlife habitat is managed to benefit game and non-game species through forest and food plot management.  Our food plots and meadows provide forest openings that benefit many wildlife species.

Frost Valley lands support a healthy population of diverse wildlife.  A system of food plots, meadows, and forest openings helps to ensure that wildlife find the proper forage. Management of our deer, turkey, and bear populations is open to Outdoor Sporting Members

Sections of the East and West branch of the Neversink River are also found on Frost Valley property.  These waters are home to healthy wild brook trout populations, as they were found prior to settlement of the Catskills.  These waters are open to fly-fishing by members of our Outdoor Sporting Program and are catch-and-release only.
