NATURAL RESOURCES
Position:
Environmental Science Specialist
Basic Functions:
Applicant must have the ability to walk and work over rough, uneven, rocky terrain. Must possess education and/or experience in natural resource management, wildlife management, forestry, environmental science or a related field. Must have or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications:
Education/experience in environmental science, forestry, and wildlife management. Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Responsibilites:
- This position reports to the Environmental Science Director and is responsible for conducting timber stand improvement, forest inventory, hazard tree analysis, GPS and other forest management activities.
- Develop outreach and education materials for interpretation of natural resources management.
- Assist with management of wildlife habitat and planting wildlife food plots for game and non-game species.
Salary:
$8.00-$9.00 per hour-depending on experience. This position also includes room and board and is not to exceed 15 weeks.

NATURAL RESOURCES
Position:
Natural Resources/Environmental Science Coordinator
Basic Functions:
Responsible for wildlife habitat management. Management of Sporting programs for hunting, fly-fishing, and hiking members. Assist the Natural Resources Director in forestry management.
Qualifications:
A 4 or 2 year degree in natural resource management, wildlife management, forestry, environmental science or a related field and/or relevant field experience. Must have a valid driver’s license. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Responsibilites:
- Responsible for wildlife habitat management and wildlife food plots for game and non-game species
- Management of Frost Valley’s Sporting programs for hunting, fly-fishing, and hiking members
- Operation of Frost Valley’s NTN and MDN, acid rain and mercury deposition stations on a weekly basis
- Assist the Natural Resources Director in conducting forestry management and inventory projects, trail management, and maple sugaring
- Offers the opportunity to gain experience using ArcGIS and GPS
- All other duties as assigned
- All actions and decisions must parallel Frost Valley YMCA’s operating objectives, mission and core values.
Salary:
$24,600-$25,500 Annually + Great Benefits+ Room & Board
