Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing in the Catskills
February 26th-March 2nd:
Spend your days exploring the limitless trail network of New York’s famed “forever wild” Catskill Forest Preserve on snowshoes, cross-country skis and on foot as we combine the best of all worlds for winter sports enthusiasts. Studio Arts: Watercolor Painting in the Catskill Forest
April 15th-20th AND October 14th-19th:
Experience a watercolor-painting adventure amid the beautiful mountains and crystal streams of the Catskill Forest. A professional watercolor artist/instructor will help you discover watercolor. You will learn how to paint and experiment with texture and technique, and enjoy daily demonstrations in drawing, design, color choice and matting in a small-class setting. Draw inspiration from your base in a renovated, turn-of-the-century estate just feet from a lovely river and marked hiking trails.
Hiking the Catskills: Five Firetowers in Five Days
April 22nd-27th AND November 4th-9th:
During a week of hiking and history in the spectacular Catskill Mountains, learn about what was once the first line of defense against potentially destructive forest fires in heavily wooded areas — fire towers. Hike each day to one of the five enduring towers in the area: Balsam Lake Fire Tower, Overlook Mountain Fire Tower, Hunter Mountain Fire Tower, Red Hill Fire Tower and Tremper Mountain Fire Tower.
Fly-Fishing: The Catskill Tradition
April 29th-May 4th AND June 3rd-8th:
Journey to the Catskills for a week of learning to fly-fish at Frost Valley Fly Fishing School, offering access to miles of pristine trout streams. Learn the art of fly-fishing on streams and still water in classes with local professionals on tackle, roll, basic and false casting, and apply your newfound skills on day trips to the best known Catskill rivers.
Stretch and Stride: Yoga and Hiking in the Catskills

Brown, Rainbow and wild native Brook Trout beckon in the scenic splendor of the Catskill Mountains. Legendary to anglers and authors alike, the rivers of the Catskills are among the greatest trout streams in the East. Refresh your skills with our expert instructors then test your abilities in private-access areas along the Neversink River (considered by many to be the birthplace of American dry fly fishing) plus the Esopus, Schoharie, Willowemoc or Beaverkill rivers.
