The East Valley Ranch and Lodge (formerly known as the Straus Center) is a secluded get-away facility for families, retreats and groups. A former country estate, the East Valley Ranch is rich in history, located on the banks of the East Branch of the Neversink River. Marked hiking trails depart just a few feet from the front door of the house. It is the ultimate Catskill country inn for small groups.
Social clubs, religious groups, and not-for-profit organizations return year after year for retreats, family reunions, leadership training and educational workshops. Frost Valley's East Valley Ranch is a stand-alone facility, renowned for its wellness cuisine and surrounded by hundreds of acres of forests and fields. It is wonderfully secluded and self-contained and located 14 miles from our main facility.
Currently a bed and breakfast style house, East Valley Lodge will be undergoing renovations in Spring 2012 to take on a true ranch and lodge feel. Additions will include 5 yurts (allowing up to 60 people to enjoy the Ranch), bathhouse, arts and crafts building and 26 stall horse barn. There will also be miles of new trails to explore and ride. 4-H Groups, Girl Scout Troops and families can create a fun-filled horse experience.
Frost Valley YMCA East Valley Ranch and Lodge has been the location for several film crews and photo shoots. We work closely with the Hudson Valley Film Commission and are happy to host your next independent or company project.
