An important note about our firewood: Guests will be provided a complimentary load of firewood at their lodges. Additional loads can be purchased at Frost Valley. Main Camp
Guenther Family Wellness Center
The health center and summer dialysis unit was dedicated in 2008 to serve the daily needs of the camping community. Expanded program space at the Wellness Center includes an auditorium/theater, toddler room, arts & crafts studio and educational nature room.

Geyer Hall
Geyer Hall offers 2 large meeting areas with fireplaces, a commercial kitchen, one medium sized meeting room, and three break out rooms.
The main room features a beautiful stone fireplace, an outdoor deck, and a view of Lake Cole. The building is equipped with wireless internet access, three meeting rooms, a kitchen and downstairs recreation area. Two rooms (including the main room) also provide a drop-down screen and projector for presentations or movies. See pictures of Geyer Hall.
Ketcham Chapel
Set by Reflection Pond, a lovely timber frame chapel for spiritual gatherings, weddings, memorials and other milestone occasions.
Resource Management Center
Frost Valley has composted 100% of the camp’s food waste in this facility for over twenty years. This Center also provides space for the extensive recycling and reuse of materials at camp at our remote location.
Lake Cole, White Pond, Biscuit Creek, High Falls
Crystal clear streams flow throughout Frost Valley, which sits atop a major watershed basin feeding reservoirs for downstate residents in the metropolitan New York region. A 17-acre lake and additional ponds are sites for guided boating, fly fishing and spin casting. During winter, campers can try their hand at the traditional practice of ice cutting.

Astronomy Observatory
The night sky at Frost Valley is almost completely dark. A high-powered telescope in our observatory enhances camper education about the night sky.
Maple Sugar Shack
The Frost Valley “Sugar Shack” is a working classroom with a two-fold mission. Using the latest vacuum pump technology, we produce hundreds of gallons of maple syrup each year, while teaching campers about the history of traditional techniques and the science of “sapping.” This operation is fueled solely with firewood harvested as part of a sustainable forest management plan in Frost Valley’s Watershed Model Forest.
Watershed Model Forest Classroom
This day-lit stone and timber building provides classroom space for campers touring our sustainable research and demonstration forest. The classroom is heated with firewood harvested as part of a sustainable forest management plan in Frost Valley’s Watershed Model Forest.
Hiking Trails
There are over 20 miles of marked hiking trails from easy to challenging throughout Frost Valley’s property. download a map (pdf).
Seasonal Horseback Riding/Cross-Country Ski Barn
Horseback riding is offered from April through October. When snow cover appears in winter, the barn becomes a cross-country ski center, where lessons and equipment rentals take place.
Adventure Elements
Frost Valley has multiple high ropes, low ropes and unique high adventure elements including a 50-foot Y-shaped Climbing Tower and zip-line. All programs on the courses are guided by caring, experienced staff trained in character education.
Margetts Lodge
A country lodge with all the trimmings - rustic wood beams, picture windows, a stone fireplace - Margetts is a popular choice for any event, from square dancing to theatre-style presentations. Seats 150.
Hussey Lodge, Quirk, Hyde & Watson Lodge, Kresge Lodge
Each of these self-contained conference and overnight lodges includes guest bedrooms and a meeting hall with fireplace. Ideal for groups of 40 or less.
Victoria Hall (Located in Quirk Lodge)
A professional level meeting and conference room with seating for up to 40. A fireplace, cushioned chairs, meeting tables, and a drop down screen for presentations are featured in this room. An adjoining room seats 8 and has a coffee bar with a sink.
Thomas Dining Hall
The main hall seats 400. Two adjoining rooms seat up to 120 each. All are equipped with fireplaces and built-in PA systems.
A solarium lounge that overlooks a butterfly garden adds extra space where small groups can work or relax between sessions. Frost Valley's fabulous food service staff serve three wholesome meals daily, with special features including morning breakfast bars, lunch and dinner salad bars and alternate vegetarian/vegan menus.

The East Valley (14 miles from Frost Valley’s Main Camp)
East Valley Ranch and Lodge
The East Valley Ranch and Lodge (formerly known as the Straus Center) is a warm country inn-like atmosphere in a secluded valley 14 miles from the main camp. This renovated turn-of-the-century estate provides tastefully furnished, second-floor, double-occupancy rooms with twin beds and private baths. A downstairs meeting room serves as a classroom space and a large comfortable living room is also available for group discussion, meeting and relaxing. Straus features buildings for indoor classes and meals, small active programs, hiking trails, outstanding wellness cuisine, and warm hospitality. There is an outdoor deck overlooking the Neversink River with an outdoor fireplace, perfect for late night chats and star gazing. With the addition of 5 yurts, the capacity is now 60 people, allowing us to accommodate larger groups at this one-of-a-kind facility. Through Fall 2011 to Spring 2012, renovations to this facility will be happening to make it into a premier lodge and working horse barn.
Frost Valley Educational Farm
Frost Valley’s Farm Camp hosts summer camp in yurts by the garden at this 500-acre farm. Campers care for the animals, grow, prepare and compost their food, and learn traditional farm crafts like spinning and making preserves. Seasonal events are held at the farm in spring and fall.
Hiking/Fishing
The Neversink River is one of the Catskills’ many superior fly fishing streams, where the sport was invented in the early 20th century. Hiking trails right out the door offer a range of terrain from rolling streamside walks to challenging vertical climbs. Nearby Red Hill Fire Tower offers a one-mile climb with panoramic mountain views.
Team-Based High Ropes Course
The East Valley Ranch and Lodge has a unique Team-Based High Ropes course designed specifically for group retreats with a focus on building team work and improving communication skills. Low ropes also available. All programs on the courses are guided by caring, experienced staff trained in character education.
