Kenneth L. Estabrook served on the Board of Trustees of the Frost Valley YMCA from 1987 until his passing in 2003. In memory of Ken, The Ken Estabrook Fund for Camperships and Scholarships was established for a purpose dear to his heart – bringing kids to Frost Valley.
The Trustees of Frost Valley have set a goal of $2,000,000 to be raised and held in perpetuity as an endowment fund. This fund will produce annual interest in excess of to provide $100,000 a year for camperships for children whose families cannot afford to pay for camp and scholarships for schools that cannot afford to pay for environmental education programs.
Children who come to summer camp, participate in activities with other campers from all walks of life – young people from the suburbs and from the inner city, children with developmental disabilities, children who need dialysis, and whose only chance to enjoy the outdoors is in the serene setting of our camp in the Catskills. Whether for camping or for Environmental Education, Frost Valley kids may come for a week or more of activities. But they leave with a lifetime experience, many seeking reunion years later with Frost Valley friends even if their daily lives separate them by thousands of miles.
The Ken Estabrook Fund for Camperships and Scholarships will make it possible, over the years, for thousands of kids to enjoy Frost Valley and form improbable but life-changing bonds with other young people they would otherwise have never met. Please help us bring children to Frost Valley by contributing to help give kids a camp experience now and into the future.
