The Frost Valley YMCA Equestrian Center is dedicated to providing fantastic horse experiences to guests of all ages and skill levels. Whether heading to the barn for an hour trail ride, or a weekend of horse packed fun, our knowledgeable staff will ensure you have an amazing time. With miles of beautiful trails and plenty of wonderful horses, we hope you will take the opportunity to join us for a ride!
In addition to pony rides, lessons, and trail rides: Frost Valley offers a variety of specialized horse programs during the spring and fall.

Spring Break Horse Camp
April 13-16th, 2009
Tune up your horsemanship skills at our all new Spring Horsemanship Camp. This camp is designed for girls ages 8-14 who want to spend time riding and taking care of their own horse. Participate in lessons, trail rides, and a horseback scavenger hunt through the mountains. You will ride the same horse for the whole week! Horsemanship Camp will allow you plenty of ride time in the morning and afternoon. Learn how to perform a drill team routine on horseback. Spaces are limited! “Just Us Girls” Horsemanship Weekend
May 9th-11th, 2009
Join us for our Second Annual Horsemanship Weekend dedicated to ladies of all ages. Bring your mom, sister, or even grandmother to Frost Valley for a fun weekend just for the girls! Spend time riding, working with the horses and participating in traditional camp activities. This is a relaxing weekend where we take care of everything. Show your mom what you love about camp! No riding experience required. Minimum age 8 years old. Cost is $275 per couple for shared lodging or $350 per couple for private lodging. Both prices include all meals and programming. Girl Scout Horsemanship Weekends
Junior Girl Scout Badge Workshop Weekends.
Bring your troop to Frost Valley to spend the weekend earning your “Horse Fan” and “Horse Rider” badges. Ride time, ground sessions and the chance to spend time with your friends and horses! Cost is $175 each which includes lodging all meals, and all programming.
Senior Girl Scout Badge Workshop Weekends
Older Girl Scouts can spend a weekend meeting the requirements of their “Horse Sense” badge. Take an in-depth look at horses for the weekend. Enjoy a trail ride and see all the great things that horses are capable of doing. Cost is $175 each which includes lodging, all meals, and all programming.
Troops Hit the Trail
Looking for something a little more adventurous for your troop? Hit the trail together for a weekend filled with trail riding, cookouts, and sleeping under the stars. This weekend is a sure hit with girls and provides a great opportunity to strengthen old friendships and build new ones. At least three hours of riding each day. Cost is $195 each. Participants will be camping, all equipment, meals, and programming included.
Boy Scout Horsemanship Weekends
Boys can spend the weekend completing requirements for their “Horsemanship” badge! You’ll ride, work with the horses, and spend time doing ground lessons on horse health and care. A BSA certified badge counselor is on site to supervise and sign off when the boys complete badge work. Cost is $175 per person, which includes rustic lodging, all meals, and all programming.
Trail Rides
Ages 8 and Up - $30 per person
Spend an hour out on the trail with our qualified Frost Valley Equestrian Center staff. We will meander through the mountains and look for native wildlife. Enjoy the peaceful and natural sites all around us here in the middle of the Catskill Mountains. Bond with your horse as you work your way along the Neversink River and gradually make your way back to the barn.
Pony Extravaganza:
Ages 4-7 - $10 per person
Young horse lovers get a taste of the barn as they spend thirty minutes there during our pony ride program. Each participant will go on a hand-led trail ride along the Neversink River. All riders will also have the opportunity to learn how to groom and feed a horse!
