Relaxation and Rejuvenation at Frost Valley YMCA's Women's Wellness Weekend

CLARYVILLE, NY—The fifth Women’s Wellness Weekend at Frost Valley YMCA is set for Friday-Sunday, March 30-April 1 and offers a perfect opportunity for rejuvenating both body and mind.

The Women’s Wellness Weekend at Frost Valley YMCA provides two days in which participants can challenge, express and pamper themselves. There’s a full schedule of activities and women have the option of taking part in as many of the offerings as they choose. Frost Valley’s pristine setting in the heart of New York’s legendary Catskill Mountains provides an ideal backdrop for two days of complete relaxation. The Women’s Wellness Weekend is an opportunity for participants to focus solely on their own needs.

The workshop options for the 2007 weekend retreat include:

Maggie Pichura, Frost Valley’s greenhouse coordinator, will teach classes on Creating Your Own Apple Vinegars in a beautiful glass bottle.  This is a great vinegar for both cooking and decoration.

Maggie will also offer a workshop titled Creating Your Own Hand Salves. Participants will learn to create salves and lotions based on typical household items.

A third class taught by Maggie will be Organic Gardening.

Sharon Suess, Frost Valley’s graphic designer, will again offer a Watercolors Class. This is a wonderful class for painters of all abilities.

Alison Ryczek, artist in residence, will be teaching Wheel-Thrown Pottery Classes for the second year. No experience is necessary and all levels are welcome. Alison will also present a class titled Sculpture in Clay.

Priscilla Bright, MA, will be the lead facilitator for the fifth time and will teach the following classes:

Recapturing Your Life Force is a workshop designed to help participants discover ways that their energy is blocked and learn ways to open it up physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Group Drumming for Beginners provides a chance to experience drumming in a non-competitive, stress-free environment. No experience needed.

The Inner Healing Ceremony class allows participants to bring their energies together as a group in a quest for deep inner healing.

Maria Spizuocu will be at Frost Valley for the first time and will teach a workshop titled Tribal Movement.  This is a fun and easy community dance class combining elements of spiritual, tribal and folk dancing from various cultures.  No experience necessary.

Barbara Johnson will be an instructor for the fifth time and will be teaching the following workshops:

Move Better, Feel Better classes will help women discover how to move more comfortably, letting go of habitual patterns of restricted movement,  reducing pain and creating a sense of greater ease.

The class Exploring the Power of Now is based upon a popular book by Eckart Tolle. Participants will practice techniques for connecting with one's inner self.

Dr. Judith Schafman is another five-time instructor at Frost Valley and will offer several workshops, including:

Dreamwork, Inner Work, is a class in which members obtain usable methods of practicing dream work when they get home.

The Spear Thrown into the Ground: The Energy of Intention is a class in which participants learn to throw the Spear of Intention into the ground in relation to a chosen area of their life. This session is designed to help women gain strength and clarity in the life area of choice.

Dr. Schafman will also offer individual sessions for an additional fee. Sessions will be: Individual Dreamwork Inner Work, Partners Dream Consultation, Inner Work for Healers and Inner Work for Artists.
