Cub Scout and Boy Scout Outdoor Weekend at Frost Valley YMCA

CLARYVILLE, NY - A Cub Scout and Boy Scout Outdoor Weekend is set for Friday-Sunday, March 17-19 at Frost Valley YMCA in Claryville, NY.

The outing provides scouts the opportunity to earn merit badges for a number of accomplishments. In addition to the scouting activities, participants will be welcome to use Frost Valley's low ropes course, indoor climbing wall and ice skating facilities.

The Scout Weekend features value pricing of $85 per person. This includes lodging, meals and programming for the entire weekend.

Cub Scouts will work on the following skills:
Wolf: ice fishing, birdhouse making and cross-country skiing.
Bear: birdhouse making, Resource Management Center tour, knot tying and observatory skills.
Webelos: model rockets, forest ecology hike, geology hike, Raptor Center tour, knot tying and outdoor living skills, Cub Scout Conservation Award: completing forester, naturalist and outdoorsman badges.

Boy Scouts will take part in:

Tenderfoot: Knot Tying, Staff-led Hikes and Outdoor Living skills.
Second Class: Map and Compass skills and How to use a Lightweight Stove.

The schedule of events for earning badges is tentative and subject to change. Day rates are also available; please call for pricing.
