Frost Valley believes that Environmental Stewardship requires an investment into scientific research. For over 30 years research has been conducted through a collaborative effort to better understand the Catskill ecosystem. This effort includes federal, state, university and regional non-profit partners. Biscuit Brook and Neversink River Research Watershed Since 1983 the U.S. Geological Survey and Frost Valley have been partners on research and education.  The Biscuit Brook watershed is home to numerous scientific studies and long term research.  Biscuit Brook is home to a USGS Gaging Station as well at the NADP stations operated by Frost Valley Staff. Frost Valley YMCA Summer Camp Olympix 2012

The Olympix of 2012 has begun at Frost Valley YMCA! Campers and counselors have split into respective countries such as South Africa, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, Ireland, and Serbia. The opening ceremony commenced last night with dances, skits, and songs representing the cultural traditions of each country. Teams also developed cheers and chants to display unity and pride for their countries. Activities will resume on Wednesday! More photos will be up soon.

Mustang Bareback Riding and Now to Compete in Olympix

Yesterday was a more relaxed schedule for Mustang girls.  They had the chance to have some crafts and bonding time with their fellow campers while enjoying an array of music.  Then in the afternoon they headed to the barn for our native American theme day.  The girls learned native American symbols and had the chance to paint some of our horses and then tell their story of why they chose those specific symbols.  Each girl then had the chance to try bareback riding.  This is where you sit directly on the horses back without a saddle or a pad.  Most girls were nervous to start, but loved it once they [...]
